Admissions requirements and process
Minimum Requirements
The following materials and qualification are required for application:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in biology, computer science, statistics or other related areas. (Must have the ORIGINAL copy of diplomat by registration)
  • Fluency in English:
      ● TOEFL score of 550pbt/79ibt. / IELTS score of 6.0/TOEIC score of 785
      ● Not required for applicants from English speaking countries. Can be waived for applicants who have obtained bachelor or master degrees from English speaking countries. Also, English Proficiency Result could be replaced by an official letter issued by School which specifies that all lectures were entirely conducted in English.
  • GRE score from the general exam. However, an applicant may submit one of the following material in place of a GRE general test score:
      ● Any evidence of research ability such as papers published in international conferences or
          journals.
      ● Satisfactory performance in any course or project work related to the design of algorithms
          or probability such as discrete mathematics, algorithms, computational complexity, data
          structure, probability, computer architecture, compiler, and computer programming.
  • Basic programming skills
  • A Statement of Purpose that includes a research plan (Make sure to enclose Self-Evaluation form in the last page of your Statement of Purpose then upload the file)
  • Official transcripts from academic institutions attended after senior high school
  • Three letters of recommendation
IMPORTANT!!!  All the documents stated above are REQUIRED, incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Interview:
Interview appointment will be send via email individually in late March upon the Committee's call.
Domestic students are required to come to the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica for a face-to-face interview.
International students are required to schedule an online interview.
